• Working on a very dry floor will not allow you to trim any high spots, or effectively fill the low spots
• Start from one end of the slab and then move on to the other
• You should hold the float at waist level and work backward to remove your footprints
• Do not rush the process. It’s best to maintain a slow and consistent speed
• When you finish floating and want a specific finish, you will need to angle the blade to suit the concrete. the normal blade angle is 5 to 10 degrees, but you may need to increase this after every pass

Make sure that you cover all the areas with the float. Work on any joints or edges along the wall before floor floating. If you do not align the brakes properly, your float will be unstable, and you will not get a good finish.
